Wednesday is my Drawing Day!

$60 residents, $70 non-residents
$20 supply fee paid to instructor on 1st day of class

Ages 7+

What does it take to become an artist who is fantastic at draw-ing? PASSION! If your child is constantly sketching, the passion has already begun! It’s time to feed that fire with practice of various techniques, individual instruction, time to concentrate, the making of mistakes, and growth in abilities. Students will be working on value to add depth, stippling to add interest with hatching and cross-hatching to add texture to their drawings. In this 4 week series students will gain confidence as they see their skills improve. Graphite, colored pencils and light washes of watercolors will be implemented in our nature focused draw-ings. A Gallery Show of our students’ artwork will be extended to families following class on the final day! Taught by Artist/Instructor Pamela Palmer B.F.A., Owner/Entrepreneur of The Artist’s Apprentice. Supply fees are non-refundable.

Wednesdays, September 28–October 19, 4:20–5:50pm

Ages: 6 to 10

Experience the colorful magic of Fall and Winter in the Young Rembrandts classroom! We will kick off this session with an interesting Iguana, a video game favorite Pixel Block Character and the geometrical world of architecture as we draw the Notre Dame Cathedral. Later in the session, students will immerse themselves in the seasonal spirit as they learn still life technique of pumpkins, draw a detailed Scarecrow, and draw a silly but challenging Patterned Bat. Finally, get ready for winter as we turn out a very ‘sweet’ drawing of a gingerbread house. We’ll draw these (and many more exciting lessons!) while we improve creative and critical thinking skills today’s students need.
