Driver’s Education
It’s time to learn to drive! Being ready for Driver’s Education might be scary, but ease your nerves and enroll through Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation. We take immense pride in knowing we have some of the most AMAZING teachers who work with this program.

Qualifications:
To enroll, students must be at least 14 years and 8 months of age on the first day of class.
To Complete Segment 1:
Students must pass both the written state test and the driving portion of the course. Students can re-test twice and may re-take the course once without paying again if they do not pass.
Registration & Payment:
Registration and payments must be completed online at www.slpr.net. Class size is limited and spots fill quickly, so early online registration is recommended. Due to limited class sizes and high demand, no refunds will be issued after the first day of class.
Required Segment 1 Paperwork:
All students must submit the Segment 1 Contract and a paper copy of their birth certificate. Please bring the completed contract and birth certificate copy to the first day of class. That paperwork must be submitted to ensure your spot in the class.

Driver’s Education Segment 2
Cost: $50
All Fall 2026 Segment 2 classes are held at Fenton High School, Room 316.

Capacity: 30 students per session
Qualifications
- To enroll, students must present a driving log showing at least 30 hours of supervised driving, including 2 hours at night, with a parent, guardian, or designated adult.
- Students must also have held their Level 1 License (permit) for at least 3 consecutive months – a minimum of 90 days from the date indicated on the permit.

- Students must pass the written state test. Students can re-test twice and may retake the course once without paying again if they do not pass.

Driver’s Training Registration Forms
Online registration alone does not complete the Driver’s Education registration process. Students must also complete the appropriate Driver’s Education paperwork.
Segment 1 students: Bring the completed Segment 1 Contract and a paper copy of the student’s birth certificate to the first day of class.
Segment 2 students: Bring the completed Segment 2 Contract to the first day of class.
