Paint Landscapes in Watercolor like the Masters have for 250 years!

AGES: 16-100!
ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME TO ATTEND

Join master artist Denise Willing Booher and learn to paint a stunning landscapes like the masters! All skill levels are welcome to attend. Denise will lead students step by step through painting a landscape using photos as well as painting a plein air (outside) landscape. She will demonstrate each step beginning with a quick study sketch and painting. You learn to work in layers of washes to build radiant colors as well as painting with strong, colorful strokes. Emphasis will be on what makes a good painting, planning the composition with a study, good division of shapes, value planning, shadows, as well as what your art communicates while enjoying yourself!

SUPPLY LIST:

  • Suggested Paper – Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper approximately 11 x 14 block or sheets.
  • Sketch book for initial painting ideas.
  • Watercolor paint palette with paint wells mixing tray and cover, water container.
  • Paint: Cadmium Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, and Ultramarine Blue. I use Winsor Newton Professional Grade paint. Student grade paints do not work as well.
  • Kleenex plus a rag or sponge
  • Brushes (Suggested brushes): Size #8 Round (Princeton Aqua Elite, Trekell Protégé or Escoda), 8 Black Raphael Soft Aqua Synthetic Squirrel Watercolor Brush Quill. A 2” flat watercolor wash brush . All brushes can be purchased on Amazon.
  • Kneaded eraser. Pencil, Kleenex, Paper towel, Water dish.

SLPR Fall 2026 Paint Like Bob Ross

Axolotls Galore! An Art Workshop

$30 residents, $40 non-residents

Ages: 6-12

We love these little sea creatures! Let’s draw a bunch of them with all of the color morphs that we can imagine. We will be sketching and modeling these aquatic friends with visual references to delight your child!

Young artists will learn to shade from light to dark values while adding spots, stripes, hearts, daisies, and other creative details.

Fun Fact: Drawing from observation helps develop attention to detail, a skill useful in science, engineering, medicine, and technology.

Bonus: Kids will design their own custom zippered case to take home!

Expect a little mess and a lot of creativity – please wear clothes that are not precious.

Families are invited to join us for a Gallery Showcase at 5:05pm.

Calling all SpongeBob fans! Join us for a fun-filled art class where kids will learn how to draw SpongeBob, Patrick, and other favorite characters.

Through easy step-by-step instruction, students will develop drawing skills, creativity, and confidence while creating fun cartoon artwork they’ll be excited to take home. Perfect for beginners and young artists who just love these cartoons!

Holly Jolly Holiday Art Workshop

Paint, Sculpt, Create, and Celebrate the Season!

$30 residents, $40 non-residents

Ages: 6 & up

Imagine ringing in the holidays by painting a glittery gingerbread house, including all the fabulous trimmings in candy cane and holly!

Students will learn to master one-point perspective when they draw bedazzled gifts for their 3-D Christmas tree. We will also add a sculpture of Frosty the Snowman or a wee reindeer using Model Magic.

This art experience is a wonderful opportunity for parents to unlock their child’s full potential and give them confidence, understanding, and skills to help them flourish in an area that is important to them.

Fun Fact: Creating art strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills because there is often more than one way to solve an artistic challenge.

A Gallery Showcase of the students’ work will be open to families at 5:05pm, with sweet treats for all!

Out of safety of for our pet friends and the public, pets are not allowed within the market space.

We offer Double-Up Bucks – spend $1.00 get a $1.00 toward fruits and vegetables. See you there!

Become a Vendor at the Fenton Farmers Market!

Thanks for your interest in the Fenton Farmers Market 2026! The goal of the market is to bring together growers, producers, and artisans, offering them a welcoming environment to display their goods, engage with the community, and celebrate fresh, locally sourced products.
 
At this time, we are at capacity for our full-season vendors and can only offer waitlists for daily vendors. If you would like to be a daily vendor and join our waitlist, we are happy to accept your application (see attached).  You must indicate specific dates you’re interested in attending on your application, and I will do my best to accommodate your request. We will contact you as soon as possible if space becomes available prior to your requested date.   
 
An important part of our selection process is ensuring we maintain a balanced variety across the market therefore certain items cannot be accommodated at this time including but not limited to: 3D-printed pieces, bath and body products such as lotions, scents, or oils, jewelry, crochet items, and baked goods (gluten free is needed). Additionally, we adhere strictly to Cottage Food Laws and require our vendors to do the same.
