Keepers of the Shiawassee
Keepers of the Shiawassee
A “grassroots” organization looking to promote, clean, and preserve the Shiawassee River.
We are a volunteer group that is beginning to develop the river as a paddling trail by organizing clean ups, installation of signage, and kayak/canoe launches. We have grown out of the efforts started by Headwaters Trails, Inc in Holly, MI. Our goal is to develop a 100 mile paddling trail from Holly to the Shiawassee Flats.

Ages: 18 and Up
Read. Reflect. Rewire.
A therapist-led community book club where ideas don’t just stay on the page—they become practices for everyday life.
Guided discussion. Interactive exercises. Practical tools. New possibilities.
Featured Book: Mind Magic: The Neuroscience of Manifestation and How It Changes Everything, by Dr. James R. Doty, MD
About the Group:
The stories we tell ourselves—and the places we direct our attention—shape how we see our lives, our choices, and what feels possible. In this welcoming community book club, we’ll explore the practices presented in Mind Magic and experiment with small, intentional shifts in mindset that can support meaningful personal growth.
Through guided conversation, reflection, and practical exercises, participants will consider how attention, meditation, visualization, and compassion can help create new patterns, deeper self-awareness, and fresh possibilities for everyday life.
What to Expect:
- Thoughtful, therapist-led discussions in a supportive group setting
- Hands-on exercises inspired by the book’s practices
- Practical tools for reflection, self-care, and personal development
- Connect with others who are curious about growth and change
