Citizen Response to Active Shooter Event (CRASE) – Avoid Deny Defend

FREE CLASS

Ages: 18+

Civilians and community leaders are looking for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, case/event studies, civilian response options, situational awareness scenarios, law enforcement response/arrival, medical issues, and considerations for independent skill development.

Mr. Jacobson from 2019 to 2024 has completed Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Train-The-Trainer for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event (CRASE), Introduction to Active Shooter Response, Active Attack Emergency Communications, Active Attack Event Response Leadership, and Active Attack Incident Management. Situational Awareness

Ages: 18+

This course is designed to enhance civilian observation skills to identifying pre-event indicators, thereby enabling the opportunity to avoid, evade, deny, and, if necessary, defende against active threats. It emphasizes the civilian’s ability to assess body language (kinesics), interpersonal space (proxemics), movement through space (geographics), all within the context of a collective atmosphere (atmospherics).

Mr. Jacobson has trained with The CP Journal Academy (Get Left of Bang) – “Tactical Analysis” reading behavior of individuals with violent intentions and capabilities. This domain of expertise is also augmented with training from the Department of Homeland Security – FEMA Active Shooter and multiple short courses from LSU National Center for Biomedical Research and Training – Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education. Advance Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT)

$65 Discounted for residents
$75 Regular fee for non-residents

Ages: 18+

Go beyond active shooter response training. While other programs focus solely on active shooter or stop the bleed, AVERT goes beyond by combining both of these important topics in one training program. Live scenario exercises and hands-on practice instills confidence and gives students the tools for how to respond. With AVERT students will learn: Warning Signs, Situational Awareness, Escape and Evade, Defend and Attack, Equipping Your Space, Emergency Bleeding Control techniques. This class includes motor skill practice with some physical activity. Mr. Jacobson is approved by the Health & Safety Institute to administer the Advanced Emergency Response Training (AVERT) program.
