Driver’s Education

It’s time to learn to drive! Being ready for Drivers Education might be scary, but ease your nerves and enroll through Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation.  We take great pride in knowing we have some of the most AMAZING teachers who work with this program. 

 

Drivers Education Segment 1

Cost: $325

Ages: 14 years & 8 month and up by first day of class

*Please Note: Individual drives may run up to 2 weeks from the last class meeting*

SESSION 1: 

July -August Class Dates – This class is FULL. 

Class dates:  Monday-Thursday July 27 – August 13

Class Times:  9:30 – 11:30 AM

September Class DatesThis Session is opens for registration 

Class dates:  9/1 – 9/3, 9/8 – 9/10, 9/14 – 9/15, 9/21 – 9/24

QUALIFICATIONS: To enroll, students must be at least 14 years 8 months of age on the first day of class.

TO COMPLETE SEGMENT 1: Students must pass both the written state test and the driving portion of the course. Students are allowed to re-test twice, and may re-take the course once without paying again if they do not pass.

REGISTRATION/PAYMENT: Registration and payments can be done online at www.slpr.net.  As a reminder, class size is limited, and spots do fill fast. We recommend online registration to ensure your spot in a class.

*REGARDLESS OF REGISTRATION METHOD (ONLINE OR MAIL) ALL STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT THE SEGMENT 1 STUDENT CONTRACT (THIS IS THE PAPER REGISTRATION FORM WHICH CAN BE FOUND BELOW) AS WELL AS A PAPER COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

DRIVERS TRAINING REGISTRATION FORMS

To register for Driver’s Training, you can register online but also, need to completely fill out Drivers Education paperwork, and bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate to the first day of class. That paperwork must be submitted to ensure your spot in the class.

QUALIFICATIONS: To enroll, students must present a driving log of at least 30 hours of supervised driving (including 2 hours at night) with your parent, guardian, or designated adult. You must have held your Level 1 License (permit) for at least 3 consecutive months (a minimum of 90 days from the date indicated on the permit).
