Neal Levin’s Cartooning workshop is a fun and exciting way for kids to learn to draw. The class is designed to provide young artists simple skills that are easy to learn and inspires creativity.

Clay Works

Does your child like working with their hands? Clay is an ever pleasing medium for the Art Kids in your family! In these fine arts instructional segments students will be working with self-drying clay, using a caliper and modelling tools to make pottery and 3D Sculpture projects. If time permits we will shimmer paint our work! A ‘Viewing of Creation’ with will be extended to families following class on the final day. Wear clothes that are not precious, we will get messy!

The Artist’s Apprentice-Kids’ Wood Burning & Drawing

Ages 10 and up

Pyro graphics anyone? Where there’s smoke there’s…all these kids getting creative with wood! What can be more compelling than to blaze our mark in an art form everyone wants to try? Students will be learning basic skills of wood burning as we venture to gain dexterity in this ancient craft. Our subject matter will be Celtic and Inuit animal designs inspired by visual references and your child’s creativity! A Gallery Show of the students’ art will be extended to families following class on the final day.

(Note: We will be working with a hot wood burning tool, so please consider your child’s level of maturity.) $25 Material fee payable to instructor on the 1st day.

The Artist’s Apprentice- Japanese Cartooning

Ready for a little Manga Madness! This art class will give Manga/Anime fans the unique opportunity to learn many techniques and improve their skills on Japanese drawing. Young artists will gain experience in drawing a variety of genres, including Chibi and

Painting With a Twist - Hello Spring

Celebrate winter and enjoy the beauty of the season! We will be holding a painting class for Seniors 60 years and older. You will be provided a canvas, all painting supplies as well as step by step instruction. Once your art piece is complete you will find that you are quite a seasoned artist. You will be taking home a beautiful painting that you proudly created.

(Feel free to bring your own finger foods as well as non-alcoholic beverages)

*No artistic experience is required.*

Glass Painting – Floral Wine Glasses

Paint a bouquet of four stemmed glasses that will look like flower blossoms and stems. Each glass will look as if you are sipping your favorite beverage from the inside of a blossom. Perfect for gifts, parties, or just making yourself feel special. This quick and easy
technique requires no pre-prep or firing. Instructor provides all supplies. Please pay instructor $10 supply fee at the beginning of class.

Watercolor Exploration for Novice to Advanced Artists

This watercolor exploration class is for the novice to advanced artists. Learn watercolor techniques, tips, process, materials, composition, and design through weekly demonstrations! The painting subject matter will range from in class still life still life
to your own sketch books and photos. Small paintings will be completed in class.

Ages 16 and up

Please bring the following: Brushes: Flat 1.5 rounds, 8 or 10 and 12 or 14. Paper: Watercolor block paper, cold or hot press (suggest Arches or sheets 300 lb or 140 stretched)
Other: Pencil, kneaded eraser, water dish, watercolor palette, paper towel or Kleenex
