Historic Sculpture Unveiling – Thursday, October 5th at 6pm

Phil and Jocelyn Hagerman to gift historic sculpture to the City of Fenton

Phil and Jocelyn Hagerman are proud to gift the City of Fenton a one of a kind sculpture to be unveiled on Thursday, October 5th at 6:00pm.  The public is invited to join the City on the front lawn of the Fenton Community & Cultural Center to receive this gift.

Phil and Jocelyn Hagerman commissioned award-winning artist, Oleg Kedria and Ben Cassell, owner Fine Arts Sculpture Centre to create this significant piece of art. “We wanted to celebrate our hometown and began looking at it’s past.  This gift is to celebrate history while making history for Fenton,” said Phil Hagerman.  “We’re excited to reveal this for Fenton residents and the State of Michigan.”

The sculpture has taken two years to complete. The Hagermans worked with the Fenton Historical Society and the Fenton Museum to research the history of Fenton’s origins, while the artist and craftsmanship of the bronze foundry brought those details to life. “The process from taking an idea to clay and bronzing it is quite remarkable. It’s been an exciting journey and I look forward to revealing this special piece to our community,” said Jocelyn Hagerman.

The City of Fenton learned of this gift and began preparations and discussion on placement of the sculpture earlier this year. “The Fenton Community & Cultural Center is in the heart of our downtown and seemed like the perfect place to highlight our history and to install a world class sculpture,” said Fenton Mayor Sue Osborn. “We cannot thank Phil and Jocelyn Hagerman enough for their generous contribution to the City.”

Preparations are being made for placement of the sculpture.  Residents will soon see screening around the sculpture location at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center until the sculpture unveiling and press conference on October 5th.

The public is encouraged to come and join in this historic event

The unveiling will take place at 6:00pm on the front lawn of the Fenton Community & Cultural Center.  The unveiling is open to the public.  History in the making!

Private Reception prior to the unveiling

Phil and Jocelyn Hagerman and the City of Fenton cordially invite guests to a private reception celebrating Fenton’s history with the gift of a sculpture. The  private reception will take place at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center on Thursday, October 5th from 5pm to 6pm.  Guests will enjoy music, hors d’oeurves, libations, and will be able to meet the artists. Tickets are $100 per person. The donation will benefit youth art programs in our community through the City of Fenton Arts & Cultural Commission.

For additional information, please contact The Hagerman Foundation at (810) 285.9223
