Fenton Farmers Market 2020

We are looking forward to a fabulous Market Season in Fenton! The Fenton Farmers Market opens Thursday, June 11th and runs every Thursday until September 10th.  Shoppers can shop Thursday evenings 5pm to 8pm on the front lawn of the Fenton Community & Cultural Center. (150 S Leroy St, Fenton MI 48430).  Stop by Thursdays and shop your local Fenton Farmers Market!

Our Market Vendors and Market Manager have been working diligently behind the scenes to keep our market running this year. We thank them for all of their hard work to make this wonderful Fenton tradition continue on this year.  We do ask shoppers to be kind and mindful of one another, and to maintain proper social distancing so that we can all have a fantastic 2020 market season. Facial coverings/masks are required to enter the market space. Out of safety of for our pet friends and the public, dogs will not be allowed within the market area this year.

Market season 2020 is here! We cannot wait for the fresh produce, the relaxing summer breezes, and the warmth of the sun!  We are now booking vendors for the upcoming season. Please note : due to new regulations, we have limited market space. The markets also have new restrictions in place on what is allowed to be sold at the market, due to the pandemic.  If these rules change during the season, we will post the updates. Please join Ted Simpson, a Certified Bob Ross Instructor, for a class that will guide you through a Bob Ross style painting! You will not believe the talent that you have inside you! You just need a little push and guidance to let those dreams fly out onto the canvas! Perfect for first time artists, but this class is also challenging for people with previous art experience! Let’s have a fun time with family, friends and new acquaintances! Classes are informal and fun! Anyone can paint like Bob Ross, even if you never picked up a brush!

All of your supplies are included in the price of the class!

Animal Art and Mural Painting workshops are partially funded by they City of Fenton Arts & Cultural Commission. A portion of the participant and supply costs have been underwritten to provide quality & professional programming at an affordable cost to participants. Thank you for supporting fine arts in our community!

Denise Willing Booher is a working artist that lives in Fenton. She shows her work regionally, nationally and internationally. Her work is in private and corporate collections. Denise has run the award winning DWB Design Studio for over 30 years. Denise currently is the President of the National Watercolor Society as well as a Signature member and the past Chairman of the Michigan Watercolor Society.

Animal Art Kids Camp – VIRTUAL Art Camp

$50 Discounted for residents
$60 Regular fee for non-residents

Ages 7-11

The kids will learn about our native Michigan animals while learning to draw and paint them. This class will be held virtually. Students will interact via Zoom with the instructor and each other. Individualized instruction will also be taking place for each student during the course of the class. 

Art can be messy, so please set up your home space with that in mind.

Mural Painting Workshop

Ages 12-16

Learn how to design and paint a mural. Students will begin by exploring large murals by famous artists. Next, they will spend time brainstorming ideas, sketching, choosing colors, tools, techniques and composition for their painting. Finally, they will create their masterpiece!

Art can be messy, please bring a paint shirt. Bring a snack and drink. (NO nut or nut products please).

The Artist’s Apprentice–Farm Animals Workshop

With a CLUCK, CLUCK here! Your young animal loving artists will be drawing in 3 mediums; oil pastel, markers, and pencil to depict bunnies, hens & roosters! Sign up for one or multiple sessions. 

Note: Please have your kiddo wear boots, or old shoes, as we will have a romp along the stream on our break.

If you wish, bring a water bottle and snack. No Nuts.

Kids’ S.T.E.A.M Camp

Let’s get to it! If your child loves art and you value the ideas that S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art & Math) has to offer, sign your child up for this exploration camp today! We will be constructing our own Geodesic Dome and learning about capillary action with an oil and liquid watercolor experiment as well as cosmic suncatchers & tessellation projects.

We will also be putting colorful a sink strainer paint pour project into motion! This is a week of exploration and fine art fun your child won’t want to miss! Gelatin art streaking along with other experiments are on the list to explore! A Gallery Show of the students’ work is extended to families after class on the final day.
