Young artist’s in this camp share a common interest in Manga! Drawing these big-eyed characters with attitudes to match, will be the main focus of this camp as we navigate the ins and outs of proportion. We will focus on storyboards with the insertion of transformation Chibis. As we step into the Japanese culture of Kawaii, (affectionate, cute, adorable), we will create interesting bubble backgrounds using food coloring and soap solutions. Experimental
painting will come into play in the garments we envision for our characters.

Attention will be placed on shading, learning to curve the designs around an object to give the illusion of a 3D presence. Watercolor and graphite will

Art kids! If you have one you know how their days are filled with imagination. If not, fear not! This is something that can be fostered and to great advantage too! Did you know that parents who integrate art into their child’s curriculum happily see higher scores in core subjects such as math, reading and science as well as increased scores on SAT tests later down the road! In this 6 week art program your child will be exploring watercolor painting, drawing, chalk pastels, colored pencils, clay etc. We will be working on various art skills to help your child develop perspective, value and a better overall handling of the medium. A Gallery Show will be extended to families following class on the last day.
