Get Festive and Artsy!

Have fun creating a holiday-inspired art canvas.  This is a great class for children ages 7 and older.  Parents can also register and participate in the class with their child/children. Children under the age of 7 may also enroll, as long as parent is also registered.  Make it a fun & festive night for everyone!  Family Fun, holiday style!   Space is limited – please register early.

The Winter-Spring Season is OPEN!

The Winter-Spring Season at SLPR is now open for registration! We are very excited to start the Winter-Spring season.

Many of our classes do fill very quickly.  Some of our classes also do have a class minimum.  To ensure your favorite classes stay on the schedule, please register early.  

You can register for a class in a few different ways.  Most classes have online registration.  Online registration is always open. You may also register in our SLPR office, M-F, 9am to 5pm.  Or, you are also able to mail in your registration form and payment to 150 S. Leroy St, Fenton MI 48430.  If you are mailing in a registration, we recommend mailing it in very early, as the class could possibly fill before we receive your registration.

Register today for the Fenton Wrestling Program.  The Fenton Youth Wrestling Coaches will help your young wrestler develop great technique, endurance, stamina, and discipline.  The season starts on November 5th.  Practices take place in the Fenton Wrestling Room.

AAU Regional Volleyball Tryouts

Sunday, October 28th at Fenton High School

For the 2019 season Southern Lakes will offer the opportunity for a Regional Level playing program in the U14 and above age groups. This program is intended to provide an option to players of high ability who are looking for an increased level of commitment in the sport. It is expected that these players will be playing volleyball as their primary commitment for the duration of the season. Regular practice attendance and increased play dates will be required for the success of the team. Player cuts will be made for the Regional commitment teams based on skill set and commitment level. Those players that are cut will be extended an invitation to the local team try-outs.

Players not selected for a Regional team, or who cannot fulfill the increased commitment level will be encouraged to attend placement evaluations for the LOCAL teams in mid – January 2019. More information will be available for this in the winter brochure. (The local program will offer select and recreational teams with a 4 local tournament playing schedule.)

U14’s – Born on or after September 1, 2004 or are an 8th grader for this upcoming academic year.
U15’s – Born on or after September 1, 2003
U16’s – Born on or after September 1, 2002
U17’s – Born September 1, 2001 through August 31, 2002

Regional program pre-registration is REQUIRED by the Wednesday prior to the evaluation date. Non-refundable evaluation fee cost is $25.00

Practices may begin as early as December 2018 with full practice schedule beginning the first week of January 2019. Practices will be held twice a week. Tournament play begins in January – April. (10) Play dates are included. There will be a combination of single day tournaments and minimum of (2) 2-day overnight tournaments. *Additional Cost: Player Uniform Order, AAU Student Athlete Card. NOTE: National Tournament in mid-June in Orlando, FL will be discussed on a per team basis.

The program will take place in the Fenton High School Wrestling room on Friday nights from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  Open to adults ages 18 and older.  Participants 13 and older are welcome with Sensei permission.

Session 3: November 2-30 (no class 11/23)

Wednesdays in downtown Linden!

Wednesdays in Linden are hoppin’!  From shopping fresh and local at the Linden Farmers Markets, to enjoying live music at Linden’s Music by the Mill every Wednesday in August,  to viewing the classic cars at the Linden Back to the Bricks Tune Up Party – there is something fun for everyone the month of August in Linden!   Events are presented by Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation and Sponsored in part by the City of Linden DDA. 

Linden Farmers Market

The Linden Farmers Market takes place at Triangle Park in Linden (on Silver Lake Rd, just west of Price’s Airport).  Shop fresh and local on Wednesdays from 5pm to 8pm, July 11 to September 12. 










Music by the Mill in Linden

Every Wednesday in August!  Enjoy live music at the Linden Mill Pond.  Concerts begin at 7pm.  In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Linden VFW Hall. For the full concert line-up, please click here. 






Back to the Bricks in Linden

Bring the whole family for an afternoon and evening of fun in Linden! Broad Street will be filled with classic cars.  The Farmers Market will be open for shopping, and the Music By the Mill starts at 6:30pm with music by “Image,” playing classic rock  and oldies.  The event runs 4pm to 8pm in downtown Linden. 



Youth Football Skills Camp – FREE!



This camp will provide basic football training skills for each position. Focus on footwork, proper fundamentals and stance technique. Learning plays and getting familiar with the playbook,  formations, and getting to know coaches and other players. Pre-registration required.  Registration is available online.

Ages: 8-12

Session 1:  Wednesdays, 7/11 and 7/18.  6pm to 8pm

Session 2:  Friday 8/3, 4pm to 8pm.  Saturday 8/4, 12p to 4p

Extended Ages for Flag Football!

Extended Ages for Flag Football!

The SLPR Flag Football League has extended the ages for the 2018 Fall Season! New this year – this co-ed league will be open to students in grades K-8!  Registration is open now.  Register today and be ready for a great fall season of Flag Football. 

The SLPR Flag Football league is designed for boys & girls in K-8th Grade. Practices will begin the week of September 17, with the first game tentatively scheduled for September 29. Games will be held on Saturdays at the Fenton High School field located behind the tennis courts. Practices are generally held once to twice per week. Teams will be split up by player’s grade in the fall. (GRADE DIVISIONS: K-1, 2-4, 5-6, & 7-8
